The magnificent white granite dome of the Wisconsin State Capitol and surrounding park-like grounds provide a beautiful backdrop for one of Wisconsin's finest summertime traditions –– the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's (WCO) Concerts on the Square®.
Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) viewers throughout the state can enjoy the July 6 concert in a tape-delayed broadcast at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 9. WPT will present an encore broadcast at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 10.
The concert, “A Down Home 4th of July,” will showcase lively musical selections by WCO violinist Jerry Loughney and his “Above the Town” Bluegrass Band. The concert also will include an “Armed Forces Salute” and traditional favorites from such classic American composers as John Philip Sousa and Aaron Copland.
