How do you rate your baking performance?

Absolutely lovely.

Lentil Wellington. It’s carrots, lentils, white beans and mushroom duxelles wrapped in homemade rough puff pastry.

Tell us about your proudest moment — or humble failure — in this week’s baking challenge.

Slicing into the Wellington was my favorite part—miraculously it all just worked, and you could see the carrot flower in the middle!

Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.

I went to Milwaukee this weekend for a puzzling convention and picked up some real Wisconsin butter for the homemade puff pastry—good butter makes a huge difference here!
