Grapefruit & Rose Fondant Fancies — I followed Mary Berry’s Base recipe but replaced the vanilla extract & rose water with grapefruit & rose vodka because this is my very last bake for the 10 week challenge and I wanted to go out with a bang.
What was the biggest surprise during your baking journey? Did you use any unconventional approaches? What did you learn along the way? Tell us about it!
These little beasties were extremely difficult to work — difficult to cut, difficult to frost and difficult to cover with fondant. I survived, though.
How did you add a Wisconsin twist to your flavors or decoration?
I used Wisconsin eggs in the cake and Wisconsin butter in the buttercream.
