Tell us about your proudest moment — or humble failure — in this week’s baking challenge.
This week was a challenge. While I was very proud of making my first lemon meringue pie (and with a twist) no part of it really went according to plan. Probably most humbling was the meringue swirls. I was hoping to make roses with stripes of red and white (Go Bucky!) but I evidently didn't make enough meringue and pretty soon it turned into a spread-out pink mess. Whoops.
Describe how you added a Wisconsin twist to your creation.
Local eggs were used for the meringue and lemon filling, and the raspberry jam was homemade from the raspberries that grow in my backyard.
