New Season of "Director's Cut" and "Director's Cut Presents" to Premiere on WPT

The new season of Director’s Cut programs on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) presents interviews with independent filmmakers followed by a broadcast their films.
The new season of Director’s Cut programs kicks off at 10 p.m. Friday, April 19 when guest host Doug Gordon talks with producer Simon Strikeback to about the film “Riot Acts: Flaunting Gender Deviance in Music Performance.” The documentary film focuses on the transgender music scene and why the trans experience isn’t always one of tragedy but one of creativity and joy. The film airs in its entirety immediately following at 10:30 p.m. on Director’s Cut Presents.
At 10 p.m. Friday, April 26, guest host Pete Schwaba interviews Director Bob Cicchini about his film “Waterwalk.” Also appearing is Steven Faulkner, author of the book by the same title. Director’s Cut Presents will broadcast the film at 10:30 p.m. The dramatic film follows a newspaper editor, who has been laid off, and his 17-year-old son as they try to repair their relationship on a 1,000 mile canoe journey retracing the Marquette/Joliet discovery route of the Mississippi.
