Deborah Allen Schultz
Deborah Allen Schultz is the director of finance for Wisconsin Public Television. She is responsible for all financial activities for the organization including budgeting, financial reporting, audit preparation, grant reporting and cost accounting. She provides administrative oversight and support to WPT staff. Deb also supervises the various financial activities of the Friends of WPT and serves on the Finance Committee of the board. She previously served as the first finance manager for Friends of WPT from 2008 to 2011; responsible for creating new financial processes, budgeting and reporting systems, preparing audit and tax documents and providing administrative support for the various fundraising endeavors. Before joining WPT, she was director of finance for Home Health United in Baraboo, controller for Sauk County, Wisconsin, and a self-employed certified public accountant, providing budget, tax, compliance, financial reporting and management consulting services to numerous small businesses, non-profit organizations and her family’s enterprise in the Wisconsin Dells area.
A native of Schaumburg, Illinois, Deb decided she preferred the beauty of Wisconsin and earned a B.B.A. in finance and business law from UW-Whitewater and a M.S. in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Besides holding a C.P.A. license, Deb is a certified soil tester. In her free time, she serves on boards or committees of various community organizations, leads church youth music programs, and runs swim meets. Deb resides in rural Portage with her musical and athletic daughter Rakelle, two dogs and several cats.
