It’s the final challenge, and we’re going out in style!
This week, no matter which challenge you pick, we challenge you to incorporate three local ingredients into your creation. Buy them at a farmer’s market, use something from your CSA or co-op, forage for some berries or mushrooms … you get the idea!
Week 10: The Final Challenges
You only need to select one to participate.
Signature Challenge — Family-sized Filled Meringue Crown
Create a crown with at least three layers of meringue, and focus on presentation. Decorate to the max!
Can you accomplish an even rise and perfect texture? This challenge will put your skills to the test!
If you’re feeling particularly ambitious or have a gathering coming up, this challenge is for you! Make a picnic fit for Wisconsin royalty. Bake: 1 Chocolate Celebration Cake, 12 Puff Pastry Sausage Rolls, 12 Mini Quiches, 12 Savory Scones and 12 Fruit and Custard Tarts. Yes, that is truly the challenge. BUT if you would like to pick one or two items from that deliciously lengthy list, be our guest! (We won’t tell Mary or Paul.)
Each week, we’ll issue three baking challenges based on the upcoming new episode of The Great British Baking Show — this way you’ll have a chance to test yourself against the show's contestants as you watch. However, you will only have to select one of our three challenges to bake. Then we'd like you to add a "Wisconsin twist" to your recipe or decoration. Be creative!
