Make a Portable “I Spy” Rainbow Bottle

Summer is coming!  For some families, that means road trips are in the works! Road trips can be lots of fun, whether traveling a few hours to visit family or packing the car to the roof and heading for one of the great National Parks out west. Having a variety of activities helps keep children entertained and makes time pass along with the miles.

At the Crafts for Kids section of the PBS Parents website, former art teacher and mother of two MaryLea Harris offers instructions for making a Rainbow “I Spy” bottle using crafting objects you may already have around the house. In addition to putting the bottles together, kids can help select items they want to “find” in the final product. Visit the website for directions and other crafting ideas.
