Keeping Classroom Celebrations Healthy

Remember how much fun it was to treat your friends at school to a special snack on your birthday?  These days, it can be challenging to come up with kid-friendly, allergy-aware, healthy snacks to send in for celebrations at school.  Many schools require that snacks fit into specific guidelines, so before sending in cupcakes to celebrate a birthday, check with your school to see what requirements they might have.

PBS Parents has a list of snack ideas that are healthy and fun.  Check it out here!

My favorite are "Cat's Hats" skewers, made with strawberry and banana slices- they look like the hat worn by a certain PBS Kids cat...  Healthy, delicious, and adorable!
