Racine Mayor Voices Opposition To Waukesha Water Plan

The Great Lakes Governors Association approved the diversion of water from Lake Michigan. Waukesha will now be allowed to divert water directly from the Great Lake, under the argument that their water is contaminated. Now, other mayors from the Great Lakes region are seeking to appeal this decision.

Mayor Shawn Reilly says it's the best way to attain safe drinking water for Waukesha. After it was approved recently, the plan has come under fire from other mayors in the Great Lakes region who have concerns about this particular use of Lake Michigan.
