WPT Reports Annual Auction Generated More Than $260,000
June 19, 2012
Organizers of the 37th-annual Wisconsin Public Television (WPT) Auction —broadcast June 1-5 on WPT — report a successful event due to generous community involvement and support.
The WPT Auction raised more than $260,000 to help fund WPT’s quality programming, outreach projects and events that serve to enrich the entire Wisconsin community.
“We are grateful to the many individuals and businesses throughout the state who help make the WPT Auction possible,” said WPT Auction Manager Ben White. “The success of the event depends on the involvement of numerous volunteers, donors, artists and underwriters, and the viewers who bid in support of public broadcasting.”
The WPT Auction is sponsored by Friends of WPT, the nonprofit fundraising arm for WPT.
WPT is a service of the Educational Communications Board and University of Wisconsin-Extension.
