Wisconsin Public Television to Offer Broadcasts of Concerts on the Square

The Wisconsin State Capitol grounds provide a picturesque setting for a longtime summer tradition in Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra's Concerts on the Square©.
This July, people throughout the state can enjoy broadcasts of several Concerts on the Square© on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT).
“Wisconsin Public Television is pleased to present broadcasts of Concerts on the Square©,” said producer Liz Koerner. “Viewers who live outside of the greater Madison area will have an opportunity to enjoy the music of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and its guest artists.”
At 8 p.m. Friday, July 2, “Summer Romance” showcases guest pianist Joseph Hauer, winner of the 2010 Young Artist Concerto Competition. Musical selections include “Vocalise Op. 34 No. 14” by Rachmaninov and Beethoven's “Piano Concerto No. 3 first mvt.” WPT will offer an encore broadcast at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 4.
At 8 p.m. Friday, July 9, “American Celebration” features Broadway soprano Amanda Huddleson. This patriotic salute to America includes Irving Berlin's “God Bless America” and Tchaikovsky's “1812 Overture.” The program will encore at 6 p.m. Sunday,
At 8 p.m. Friday, July 16, “POPERAzzi!” spotlights the vocal sounds of the group POPERAzzi! Guest conductor Michael Krajewski will lead the orchestra in familiar favorites including a Frank Sinatra medley and selections from the hit Broadway musical “Jersey Boys.” Viewers may enjoy an encore broadcast at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 20.
