Wisconsin Life on Wisconsin Public Television Features South Milwaukee’s Cow Chip Champ, Terry Stramowski

Wisconsin Life continues to highlight the stories of notable Wisconsinites — from Waukesha to Washburn and everywhere in between — bringing to life the humorous, surprising and sometimes emotional tales of those who call Wisconsin home.

With the return of new episodes of Wisconsin Life, viewers can see all-new stories from different communities across the state. These stories include that of South Milwaukee’s Terry Stramowski in the new episode premiering 8 p.m. Monday, July 28 on Wisconsin Public Television (WPT).

South Milwaukee resident Terry Stramowski is widely recognized as the opponent to beat in the Wisconsin Cow Chip Throw and Festival, and her reputation is well deserved. In fact, the competitor has taken first place during 18 of the annual events, and placed second five other years. And while you might be glad that we’re not broadcasting in Smell-O-Vision, her technique really is remarkable.

Tune into Wisconsin Life to learn Stramkowski’s secret to success and find out why she was first drawn to her unusual hobby. This episode of Wisconsin Life will also feature other stories from across the state, including a Madison actress who is now one of Taliesin's most popular tour guides and a Beloit anthropologist who is helping return artifacts to native nations.

Wisconsin Life is a partnership project of Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio. In addition to the television program, audio reports can be heard on Wednesday and Friday at 6:35 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. during Morning Edition, and on Central Time at 4:45 on Mondays and Wednesdays.
