Director's Cut Interviews Local Filmmakers Followed by Presentation of Their Films

This July, Wisconsin Public Television's (WPT) Director's Cut interviews several local filmmakers followed by a broadcast of their films on Director's Cut Presents.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, July 1, Director's Cut Host Charles Monroe-Kane interviews Scott Smith and John Fromstein about their film "Being Bucky." The film introduces seven University of Wisconsin-Madison students who play Bucky Badger during the 2007-08 school year and will follow at 9:30 p.m. on Director's Cut Presents.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, July 8, Director's Cut guests Peter Rudy and Ivo Knezevic discuss their film "No Sleep ’til Madison." In the film, 30-year-old Owen is at a crossroads of devotion where he must choose between his girlfriend and the state high school hockey tournament. At 9:30 p.m., viewers may watch the film on Director's Cut Presents.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, July 15, James Bett Jr. and William Zenobia are interviewed on Director's Cut. Their film, “Into the Pit: The Shocking Story of Deadpit.com.” features two small-town boys who devote a radio show to their love of horror films. The film airs at 9:30 p.m., on Director's Cut Presents.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, July 18, Director’s Cut offers and interview with Ben Gottfried creator of the film “Paddle to Seattle: Journey Through the Inside Passage.” At 9:30 p.m. Director’s Cut Presents airs the film about two intrepid adventurers who build kayaks and venture from Alaska to Seattle.

At 9 p.m. Thursday, July 29, Directors Cut features Bob Pondillo. His film “The New, True, Charlie Wu,” about an accountant who dreams of putting income aside to do something he actually loves, airs at 9:30 p.m. on Director’s Cut Presents.
